Backstory II
Our differences.
When I was eight, I had spent the four years of gradeschool I had mostly in the library. That's where they sent the students who misbehaved. I fought with everyone. I had read books on The Occult, Cryptography, was starting books on Calculus, and had even been meditating regularly for over a year. I was already lucid dreaming every night, since I had mastered the practice much earlier.
I was standing on the playground, looking around at everyone. I realized at that moment that I was not like anyone I had ever met. I decided then that I was going to go my own way. No one else's could possibly work.
I spent the next 25 years figuring out what that way was. The last job I had confirmed most of it. The way I've been handling my consulting since, and getting more into handling several projects instead of forcing myself to focus on one.
I don't really have a home at the moment. I rent a couch in Burbank from a friend from music school. I play in two standing ensembles, organize the occasional chamber music concert, and help out with the youth orchestra I had been coaching for years before they reorganized when a friend left to study conducting on a large graduate stipend in Florida.
But I'm happier than I've ever been. I'm finally on my path. It's taken a long time and a lot of effort to come to this.
